Rane SR 3 je externí ovladač pro RPM22, RPM44, RPM88 vybavený LCD displejem. Ovladač funguje na generickém síťovém rozhraní RS-485 a je vybaven enkoderem (nekonečný otočný potenciometr) s 31-polohovou LED indikací pozice a možností stisku (funguje jako tlačítko) a LCD displejem 98x64 pixelů, s ovladatelným podsvícením. Enkoder je možné uzamknout. Až 16 bitmap může být uloženo do paměti a automaticky se zobrazovat k definovaným funkcím. Kromě toho displej zobrazuje stavové hlášky, které jsou genrovány z fontu uloženého v paměti. SR 3 obsahuje dva fonty: text a symboly. Textový font je standartní ASCII a má tři velikosti. Symboly se mapují jako ASCI znaky a mají dvě velikosti. The encoder can be locked out by grounding the Encoder Lock terminal and enabling Auto Lock in Drag Net which is used to configure SR 3 devices.
